As we gear up for the highly anticipated launch of the Sonic network, we’re thrilled to unveil Sonic Boom, a bounty program for the Sonic network, and the introduction of Sonic Gems, developer points in our S airdrop.
This initiative is set to drive early growth on Sonic by attracting top-tier projects and fostering the development of essential applications within our ecosystem.
Sonic Gems
Gems function as developer points as part of our ~200 million S airdrop that apps earn based on their performance on Sonic. These Gems can be redeemed for S tokens, which apps can then distribute as rewards to their users.
This system empowers apps to kickstart growth and maintain long-term user activity by encouraging consistent interaction and participation within the ecosystem.
37.5% of the total airdrop is allocated to Gems. The Sonic Boom program is the first initiative with which we distribute a portion of these Gems.
Sonic Boom
Sonic Boom offers up to 30 winning projects an allocation of Gems as bounties for developing innovative apps across a variety of categories that you can find in the next section.
These Gems act as points in our airdrop that projects can use to claim S tokens and distribute to users as rewards for using their apps. This approach helps projects bootstrap and sustain user activity by incentivizing usage.
Sonic Gems represent a meritocratic system designed to empower apps in distributing rewards as part of our airdrop, making them an essential tool for developers aiming to make an impact on the Sonic network.
We’re allocating a substantial amount of Sonic Gems to the winning apps of this program, recognizing up to 10 winners across three tiers:

Winning projects must deploy on the Sonic testnet with a live, interactive frontend. Once the Sonic mainnet is live, they must deploy within 7 days.
