Sonic Labs Joins Chainlink Scale, Bringing Chainlink Data Feeds and Chainlink CCIP to Sonic

We’re excited to announce that Sonic Labs has joined the Chainlink Scale program and is integrating Chainlink Data Feeds and Chainlink CCIP into the new Sonic network.

This initiative will empower Sonic ecosystem developers by providing them with the tools they need to build feature-rich on-chain apps through Chainlink’s industry-leading services. 

Joining Scale provides Sonic developers with enhanced access to Chainlink’s high-quality, low-cost oracle services. Sonic will cover Chainlink oracle network operating costs for a period of time before those costs can transition toward being fully covered by app user fees as Sonic’s ecosystem matures. 

As the most widely adopted data standard in the on-chain ecosystem, Chainlink already helps secure leading DeFi protocols responsible for tens of billions of dollars in smart contract value, maintaining robust security and high availability even amid unexpected events.

Chainlink Data Feeds deliver several critical features and benefits, including:

  • High-Quality Data — Chainlink Data Feeds source data from multiple premium data providers, leading to pricing data aggregated from hundreds of exchanges, weighted by volume, and cleaned of outliers and wash trading. Chainlink’s data aggregation model generates precise global market prices that are inherently resistant to inaccuracies or manipulation of any single or small set of exchanges. 
  • Secure Node Operators — Chainlink Data Feeds are secured by independent, security-reviewed, and Sybil-resistant oracle nodes run by leading blockchain DevOps teams, data providers, and traditional enterprises. Chainlink nodes have a strong track record of reliability, even during high gas prices and infrastructure outages. 
  • Decentralized Network — Chainlink Data Feeds are decentralized at the data source, oracle node, and oracle network levels, generating strong protections against downtime and tampering by either the data provider or oracle network.
  • Reputation System  — Chainlink provides a robust reputation framework and set of on-chain monitoring tools that allow users to independently verify the historical and real-time performance of node operators and oracle networks.

Sonic Labs chose CCIP as our interoperability solution for Sonic for its proven track record of maintaining the highest standard of security and reliability in the blockchain industry, with CCIP being the only interoperability solution achieving level-5 cross-chain security.

Furthermore, CCIP is backed by the Risk Management Network—a separate, independent network that continually monitors and verifies cross-chain operations for suspicious activity. This additional layer of security is particularly important given historical industry exploits and the billions in user funds lost due to unreliable cross-chain infrastructure.
